BROTHER HOMER, HUSBAND, AND FATHER DIED OCTOBER 30, 2018 AT HIS HOME IN HIGHLAND, UTAH WITH HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER AT HIS SIDE.
HE WAS BORN OCTOBER 7, 1936 IN SANTA PAULA, CALIFORNIA.
HE SUCCOMED TO COMPLICATIONS WITH PARKINSONS DISEASE AND CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE.
HIS PARENTS, RAY AND VIRGINIA, AND OLDER BROTHER GORDON PRECEDED HIM. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, NATALIE, DAUGHTER ROSIE, GRAND CHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILREN, OLDER BROTHERS MARVIN AND MILLARD, COUSINS, NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
HE LIVED IN CALIFORNIA, NEVADA, OREGON, WASHINGTON, WISCONSIN, ILLINOIS, ARIZONA AND UTAH. HE AND HIS BROTHERS SERVED HONORABLY IN THE ARMY AFTER HIGH SCHOOL AND HIS GRANDSON IS CURRENTLY IN ARMY SERVICE.
AS A TRUCK DRIVER, HE LOGGED OVER ONE AND ONE HALF MILLION MILES. HE WAS A MODEL TRAIN COLLECTOR AND A RESTORATION MECHANIC PLUS TRADING AND ATTENDING NUMEROUS TRAIN SWAP MEETS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. HE WAS KNOW FOR DRIVING HIS HEARSE TO THE MEETS CARRYING HIS STOCK PLUS IT WAS LONG ENOUGH FOR HIS SIX AND A HALF FOOT FRAME TO SLEEP IN. HE WAS ALSO FORTUNATE TO VISIT THE REED FAMILY ORIGINS AND CEMETERY IN HALFWAY, MISSOURI.
HIS WIFE NATALIE BECAME HIS SOULMATE AFTER THEIR FIRST CUP OF COFFEE TOGETHER 19 YEARS AGO. HER LOVE AND CAREGIVING AT HOME WAS WITHOUT COMPARISON.
HOMER WAS VERY PROUD OF HIS DAUGHTER RETURNING TO THE UNIVERSITY OBTAINING HER TWO DEGREES IN MID LIFE.
HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL AND WE CELEBRATE HIS "GOOD RIDE IN HIS LIFE JOURNEY.
