Helen Joyce Mayne, 88, died on June 13, 2019 in American Fork, UT. She was born on September 15, 1930 to Garland Bertroch and Ruth Caywood in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Helen was extremely active in the American Fork 6th ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served as The Relief Society President and many other callings over the years. She worked for many years at the Utah State Development Center, where she retired as a nursing assistant. She later worked at the Senior Citizens Center in American Fork. Helen enjoyed horses and spending time with family. She especially loved her (34) grandchildren, (58) great grandchildren, and (16) great, great grandchildren. She was passionate about doing genealogy and temple work.
Joyce will be remembered for teaching and sharing her many talents with friends and family, including cooking, canning, quilting, crocheting and genealogy. Joyce made sure each new baby was gifted with a precious handmade quilt or afghan.
She is survived by her children Garland (Kristy) Mayne, George L. (Kim) Mayne, and Joylynn (Don) Fitch. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Mayne; daughter, Marsha Lawther; son, Steven Mayne; two granddaughters, Mary Mayne and Christina Nielsen.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the American Fork 6th Ward, 320 North 100 East, American Fork. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and on Friday prior to service from 9:45-10:45 am at the church.
