Grant was born on December 13, 1934, in Pleasant Grove to Nathaniel H. Loader and Loretta Slater. Growing up, he learned the value of hard work from his parents, working on the family farm and taking pride in his heritage. He was a dedicated strawberry farmer in Pleasant Grove, contributing to community events like donating strawberries for Strawberry Days.
A lifelong learner, Grant graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1953 and pursued various vocations, from electrician to real estate, while serving in the Utah National Guard. He was an original, ambitious visionary with a wise soul, involved in charitable organizations, and always sought to improve his community. He also loved the Lord and his country.
In 1961, Grant married his best friend and sweetheart, Carol Fraughton. He cherished time spent with family, traveling the world with his beloved wife, and indulging in hobbies like gardening and fruit peddling. He also deeply loved sports, particularly football, and spent many joyful moments supporting his grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters Cindy, Belinda, Michelle, and Raquel; son-in-laws Greg, David, and Jon Paul; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. His parents, Nathaniel & Loretta Loader, preceded him in death, and siblings Forrest, Harry, Elvin (Ben) Loader, and his loving sister, Elaine Hunsaker Aquirre.
