Glenna Dee Grandy Carter
Glenna Dee Grandy Carter, 74, at home, and under the watchful care of her loved ones, passed away due to compilations from a massive stroke, thus ending her life's journey here on earth, January 30, 2018.
Glenna was born November 20, 1943, in Tremonton UT, to Edna Munns and DeWitt Carl Grandy. Early in her life, the family moved and she grew up in Daniels, UT, just above the Deer Creek Reservoir.
On April 23, 1965, she married James LeRoy Carter in Linden, UT and on February 20, 1982, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo LDS temple.
She is survived by her husband of 50+ years; daughter, DeAnn (Jeff) Rappleye; son, James (Shawnna) Carter; 10 grandchildren: Christine (Robert) Poole, Curt Houghton, Rachel (Alex) Francks, Danielle Houghton, Jarod Sorenson, Jamie (Ryan) Johnson, Jenny (Jake) Higgs, Joe Rappleye, Julie (Ryan) Jones, Jon Rappleye, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was born the third oldest into a family of eight children and leaves behind five siblings: Geraldine (Fred) Duersch, Lynette (Richard) Zobell, Denise (Jarold) Knight, Demont (Pam) Grandy, and Judith (Marvin) Biggs, as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves numerous others she claimed as children, having adopted them into her heart as her own. She loved her family deeply and tried to keep in touch with them all, throughout her life.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: DeWitt Glade and Bryce Carl Grandy, and a nephew, Darin Duersch.
Her viewing will be held from 11:45-12:45 pm, followed by a service on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Anderson Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American Fork.
