Forrest Meeks

Our Frosty, Poppy, Pops, Papa, Father Meeks, Dog Face, and Dad, passed away August 5th, 2023, surrounded by his family in his home.

Forrest was born the youngest of 12 children on April 5th, 1949, in Evanston, Wyoming. He lived a humble life in Mountain View, Wyoming where he established an extraordinary work ethic starting at age 10. This work ethic continued throughout his life. He taught all of his children the importance of hard work and serving others. He left Wyoming and started his life in Utah with his bride, Connie Jeanne Whittaker, in the summer of 1969. They were married on July 7, 1969 in Tooele, Utah and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, with their first baby girl, on October 9, 1970. Together they built a life with their six children: Jeannie, Jaime, David, Janette (Rob), Jody (Dave), Julie (Kirk). He is preceded in death by his mom (Merna) and dad (Joseph), all of his siblings, and his one and only son, David.

Forrest never had a problem making friends and talking to strangers. He touched countless lives and was always the first one to lend a helping hand. His warmth and humor will be sorely missed; his death leaves a huge void to all who knew and loved him. He battled back from numerous medical events; we are grateful to have been given the extra time we needed with him. He is now free from the pains of his mortal body, leaving behind his beautiful wife (who stayed by his side until the very end) and an incredible posterity of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4580 West Cedar Hills Drive in Cedar Hills, Utah 84062 on Friday, August 18th. A closed casket gathering will be from 9:45-10:45 AM, with services starting at 11 AM. A closed casket gathering will also be held on Thursday, August 17th from 6:00-8:00 PM at the church.
