Floyd Mitton

July 7, 1934 — July 19, 2020

Floyd Robert Mitton, 86, died on July 19, 2020 in American Fork, Utah. He was born on July 7, 1934 to Alexander Coyne Mitton and Bodil Lerona Peipgrass in Kalispell, Montana.

Floyd was a master machinist for 38 years and was the finish QA machinist for the Lunar landing components. In his youth, he was an undefeated champion golden glove boxer and was always quick to stand against bullies and defend the underdog.

Floyd proudly served in the army and was always proud of his country.  His favorite colors were red, white and blue and he had a great respect for the American flag. He married the love of his life Elizabeth Diane Noll in Las Vegas on October 6, 1972. They worked on several creative projects over the years in which he did the woodwork and she painted and decorated.  Floyd won awards for some of his wood carvings. Floyd and Diane retired in Ontario, California. Even though Floyd and Diane were not blessed with children, Floyd was like another father to his nephews and grandfather to his great and great, great nieces and nephews.They all love Floyd very much!

After Floyd lost his loving wife, he moved to a community in Ontario where he made several friends. They all loved Floyd for his very friendly ways and his positive attitude. Floyd was always quick to display is love and affection for others. As such, he spent his last few years enjoying family history, serving as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader.

Survivors include his siblings: Lois Gaunt, Arthur Mitton, Marva Stanley and his nephews: Jared Gaunt, Eldon Gaunt and Delmar Gaunt, sister in-laws and their husbands: Joyce and David Keshmiry, Victoria and Edward Modereger, Sharon and Doug Beatty, niece and nephews: Eli Miller, Jon Keshmiry, Julie Keshmiry, Michael Modereger, Elisa Engberson, Grand nieces and nephews: Brandon, Brent, Sydney, Trinity, Logan, Aria, Serenity, Aiden and Zain. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother John Mitton, a sister LaVaun Miller,
