Elvin Frank Jones, 73, passed away on October 21, 2022, in American Fork, Utah. He was born in Lehi, Utah to Elvin Morley Jones and Margaret Pearl Roberts. He was the oldest of four children. He married Leia Reva Hethcoat on August 31, 1973 in the Latter-day Saint Oakland Temple.
Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was known to most people as Frank. He could not go anywhere without someone stopping him to say hi. Many people knew him as Mr. Lincoln. He resembled the 16th President of the United States and had a great love for him that he wanted to share. Many times he went in character as Lincoln to auditoriums, classrooms, and patriotic gatherings to bring Honest Abe to life right before their eyes.
Frank loved going fishing and especially taking his children fishing. He took time to individually talk with and teach his children. He especially loved the Lord and the scriptures. He served a Spanish speaking mission in Texas. He had a great love for music, especially the hymns and religious music. He enjoyed singing and performing and encouraged his children to cultivate their musical abilities.
Frank is survived by his wife, Leia Jones, his children: Isaac (Katie) Jones, Julie (James) Griffith, Michael (Michelle) Jones, Joseph (Liesel) Jones, Sarah (Scott) Chamberlin, and Benjamin (Courtney) Jones, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, his siblings: Jerry Jones, Laura Hudson, and David Jones. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 10 AM at the American Fork 7th Ward building, located at 165 North 350 West, American Fork.
