Elaine Lewis

Elaine Cecilia Pfister Lewis, 93, of Provo, Utah passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023.

Elaine was born December 30, 1929 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Frank Henley Pfister and Cecilia Walker Garn. She married Brian John Lewis, on August 20, 1955, in Los Angeles, California and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Brian preceded her in death September 25, 2001. She later married Einar Hovind on October 25, 2003, in Santa Barbara, CA. He preceded her in death in 2012.

She attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and obtained a California Teaching Certificate. Her life's journey with Brian took her to the Pacific Northwest, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina and Colorado. She loved her Southern California roots, coming full circle when she returned there to live with Einar. Her hobbies included reading, playing bridge, knitting, and traveling. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings during her lifetime. Above all, Elaine will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Randal (Argelia) Lewis, Geoffrey (Deborah) Lewis, Matthew (Paula) Lewis, Jennifer (Bob) Carter, Jason (Marie) Lewis, 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 9:00 am in the Church at 1152 North 400 West, American Fork, Utah 84003.
