Eilene Thompson

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Eilene Bernece Thompson who departed this life on September 5, 2023, at the age of 86. She spent her final days surrounded by the presence of her beloved family. Eilene was born on September 21, 1936, in Boise, Idaho to her parents, James Elbert Johnson and Irene Johanna Qualman Johnson.

Eilene married her sweetheart, Fredrick T Thompson on August 25, 1956 in Nampa, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City temple. Eilene lived a life that was filled with love, warmth, and devotion to her family and poured her heart and soul into creating a loving home for their children; Mark, Mindy, Kristen, Trudy, and Troy.

Eilene had a deep passion for genealogy and spent countless hours tracing her family's roots. She delighted in discovering the connections that bound her family, and others together across generations.

In her free time, she found solace in creating porcelain dolls, stained glass pieces, and collecting many family and other antiques. Eilene also enjoyed fishing and treasured time spent at the family cabin, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors. Above all, Eilene's greatest source of happiness was her family. She nurtured and supported her children, guiding them with love and wisdom throughout their lives. In her later years, her warm and caring nature endeared her to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories they created together.

Eilene is survived by her children; Mark (Pam) Thompson, Mindy (Mark) Bunnell, Kristen (Doug) Gleed, Trudy (Mark) Messick, and Troy (Allison) Thompson; her brother, Duane Johnson, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick, her parents, Elbert and Irene, and siblings; Belva, Norma, and Farrell Johnson.

To honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Eilene Bernece Thompson, a graveside service will be held on September 15, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the American Fork Cemetery, located at 600 North Center Street American Fork, Utah. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place from 10:30-11:40 AM at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North in American Fork.

Eilene Bernece Thompson will be remembered as a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a dear friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy of love and devotion continue to inspire us all.
