Dorothy June Peck Johnson (Grandma Dott)
Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Sister and Daughter Dorothy Peck Johnson peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father on February 9th 2015 at the age of 89. She was met by her eternal companion and love of her life Vernon Ray Johnson and welcomed by hosts of family who rejoiced at her arrival. Dorothy was born June 24th 1925 at home to Charles Lawrence and Anna (Nan) Green Peck, the 2nd of three daughters.
The meaning of her name is "Gift from God" and she always treasured it. She graduated high school and seminary from "Dear old AF High" in 1943 and lived most of her life in American Fork. Dott married Harry Davis (divorced) and together had 2 children Charles and Dottie. On February 12th 1953 she married Vernon Ray Johnson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1963 they were blessed to welcome Sharron, a precious baby girl. Dott was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings in the women's auxiliaries. Always carrying a song in her heart, a day didn't go by without music and sang in many choirs. She was a temple ordinance worker, a member of the DUP and Bell telephone operator.
We will miss her deeply; family was the meaning of life for Grandma Dott. She temporarily leaves behind her three loving children; Charles Johnson, Dottie J (Lyman) Swensen and Sharron Rae Johnson (Timothy Rodriguez), 11 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and sister Mary P (Wendel) Strong. Dott is preceded in death by her husband Vern Johnson, Sister Evelyn P. Beck and 3 great-grandchildren.
