Dora Young, age 90, returned to her heavenly home on January 31, 2023, in American Fork, UT.
Dora was born in American Fork, Utah to Samuel Faddis and Thelma Callaway Butt in 1932. Dora married Jack Leroy Young on May 4, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on December 10, 1964 for time and all eternity.
Dora and Jack spent their married life raising 5 children, traveling, camping, and spending time with family. Dora is remembered for her dedication as an employee at JC Penny, where she spent 17 years as a retail associate. She also worked at Bank of American Fork and ZCMI. Dora enjoyed shopping, hosting parties, sewing, and making quilts. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family the very most.
Dora is survived by her children: Bonnie (Vaughn) Lewis, Jack (Valerie) Young, James Young, Sandra (Greg) Draper, and Jim Kelley, son-in-law. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 17 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Dora is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, her daughter, Linda Kelley, and siblings, Karl Faddis and Beth Allred.
The viewing for Dora Young will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N American Fork, Utah 84003 from 9:30-10:45 AM, followed by a service at the same location at 11 am. She will be laid to rest in the American Fork Cemetery.
