Dona Kay

August 26, 1938 — December 27, 2024

Dona Marie Kay passed away in her sleep returning to her heavenly home on December 27, 2024, at the age of 86. Dona was born on August 26, 1938, in Bell, California, to Williston and Melva Phippen Stevens. She is survived by her younger brother, Carl Stevens (Marsha).

Dona, with first husband Ronald Schmidt, was blessed with two daughters, Sheila Joy Allen (Clyde) and Gay Ann McClellan (Bruce). She and Ron divorced. Years later, Dona met Allan Kay, at a Latter Day Saints Singles Activity. They were married and sealed on June 30, 1978, in the Los Angeles, CA Temple. Allan came to this eternal marriage with 3 kids: Andrew Martin Kay (Elizabeth), Tricia Kay Fambro (Steve) and Jaime Marie Jenkins (David). As a couple, Allan and Dona added one more to their family, Susan Kay Meier (Allan). They beautifully loved all of the children equally. Combined they have 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Dona is preceded in death by her parents, Williston and Melva Stevens, a daughter Jaime Marie Jenkins and a grandchild Brayden Allan Meier.

Allan and Dona shared a passion for travel, exploring amazing places such as Israel, Italy, and the Mayan Ruins in South America. They also owned a motorhome that they used for more local travel. They took the kids with them on many trips which created countless memories and bonding.

Dona's favorite color was red. From her early twenties to her eighties one would find her wearing red (or fuchsia) lipstick, nails and a dress to match.

Dona had many talents. Her artistic talents extended into oil and water color painting, where she captured the beauty of God's creations on canvas. She also had a deep love for reading including books, newspapers, magazines and even encyclopedias. She had a wealth of knowledge and loved gaining more. As a dedicated seamstress, she ran her own company out of her home for many years, named Dona's Dressmaking. She created incredible custom wedding dresses, formal wear and many other pieces. Her ability to create any piece thought up by her customers or daughters, was a delight to many.

In memory of Dona, funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 2-3 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (942 North 500 East, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062).
