Debra George

November 4, 1954 — September 19, 2023

Debra Lin George passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19th 2023. She was diagnosed earlier this year with cancer, and that cancer quickly took her from us. Debbie was prepared to pass to the other side, and looked forward to being reunited with family and friends, and being able to work again.

Debbie was born on November 4, 1954, in Provo, Utah, to Melva and Melvyn Hill. After her father passed away when she was 6 years old, her mother remarried Doral Hodgkinson. She grew up with her four sisters and one brother in Orem, Utah.

She was a fun and loving child and teenager. She attended Cherry Hill Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and Orem High. She frequently shared memories of her childhood activities including picking cherries in the orchard, riding bicycles, cheerleading, skiing, going to concerts, and scuba diving, among many other things.

On June 19th, 1981 she married Paul George and they had two children together, Sam and Kendall. They lived in Vineyard, Orem, and Alpine, Utah. Debbie balanced her time being an amazing mother, working part-time, and serving in various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her kind and loving personality made her a great friend to many, and she especially loved spending time with her many BFFs.

She later welcomed 2 daughters-in-law, and four amazing and energetic granddaughters to her family. Spending time with her granddaughters became her "happy place" and as such she performed her grandmotherly duties of spoiling them as often as she could.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Connie, and her daughter-in-law Kimberly. She is survived by her husband Paul George, her children Sam (Jessica) George and Kendall George, her granddaughters, Haylee, Alexandra, Gabriella, and Adeline. Also her brother and sisters Terry Billings, Ronald Hill, Sheryl Beardall, Kim Esplin, and her many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Alpine 7th Ward Church (890 N Heritage Hls Dr, Alpine, UT 84004) on Monday September 25th at 11:00am. A visitation will be held before the services from 9:45-10:45am.
