David Paul Mitchell, 66, Passed away on May 22, 2018.
He lived in Highland, Utah for 35 years.
He was born Feb. 8, 1952 in Mercer County, PA.
He graduated from Newcastle High school, Newcastle,PA in 1970.
After graduation, he joined the Army, trained in Baltimore, Maryland and served in Germany.
Upon his honorable discharge, he came to Utah to visit friends and stayed. He attended Utah Technical College and received his degree in Electronics.
Dave worked for many electronics companies. He especially enjoyed his time at Novell in Provo where he made many life long friends.
Dave met Kay in church choir in 1973. They married March 15, 1979.
They moved to Pennsylvania where their first son was born and returned to Utah two years later where their second son was born.
David worked for UTA from 2002 until retirement and again made many lasting friendships through his work on the TRAX trains.
David loved to fish and was willing to drop a line in any lake or river. He especially loved bass fishing but all fish needed to beware of his expertise.
David had many talents. He was a terrific mechanic, wood worker, electrician, plumber. He proudly built the addition to his home in Highland, doing most of the work himself.
Dave loved animals and his constant companion to the end was his little Pug, Jesse James.
David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kay Elizabeth Hale, his two sons, Shane Raymond Mitchell (Alisa Ellis) and Thomas James Mitchell. Adored grandson, Lucas Jaxon Mitchell.
Preceded in death by parents, James Paul Mitchell and Kathleen Marie Jennings Mitchell. Also brother James Gordon Mitchell.
We know he is planning a great fishing trip and having his nightly campfire wherever he is.
He requested no funeral.
The family will have a private send off at a date to be announced.
