David Scott Lukens, 63, passed away quietly in his sleep on November 28, 2016 in Highland, Utah. He was born June 27, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia to James Edward and Vivian Lucille Lukens. He married Loretta Peterson Allen on November 29, 2014.
David coached the 10 and 11 year old A's team in American Fork Little League and was a school crossing guard at Westfield Elementary. He loved baseball, cooking for others, being a grandpa, and was passionate about politics. He was also an active member of the LDS church.
David is survived by his wife Loretta and six children: Lauren Lukens, Robert (Rebecca) Allen, Lindsey (David) Barrus, Leanna (Brian) Holman, Sarah (Zach) Rodgers, and Jennifer (Anders) Larson, 14 grandchildren, and four siblings Midge Bagley, Richard Lukens, Karen Ramirez, Jennifer Zamora and his step-father James Childers.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland 25th Ward, 5335 West 11200 North, Highland, Utah 84003. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland, Utah 84003 and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Highland 25th Ward chapel prior to the services. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
