d. February 21, 2017

David Henry Dendler was born to Walter Bryon Dendler and Rosa Eulalia Stewart, 14 April 1942, in Redwood City, Alameda County, California. He was the oldest child of three born to this family. Both younger brothers, Walter Bryon and Walter Lee, died in infancy. David only weighted 3 pounds at birth, and was kept in an incubator for a period of time in the hospital.
David at a very young aged faced some really hard challenges. His mother developed cancer young in her life, and passed away. 28 March 1952, when he was only ten years old. His dad remarried shortly after to Virginia Trimble, and with his new bride left California, and moved back to Pennsylvania without David. Virginia didn't want to raise David. Walt and Virginia had another child by the name of Twina Dendler., born in California. His dad never communicated this with David, in fact his dad never contacted him all down through the years, not even on birthdays or Christmas. David never reunited with his dad until after David and Karen were married. David was raised by his Uncle Dave and Aunt Daisy. Daisy being his mother's sister.
David learned how to work at a very young age. He earned money working and keeping up various yards in his neighborhood. By doing so he gained a lot of knowledge of various plants , trees, shrubs and flowers.
David met his wife Karen in New Zealand, serving missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Karen was stationed in the mission home at the time when he first arrived in New Zealand.
The first Sunday I attended church after moving to Redwood City, CA was David's first Sunday home from the Mission Field. Three months later we were married the 19th of January 1969 in the Salt Lake temple.
David wanted to become a doctor. He started school, learned the material, but had great difficulty passing the test. Later he started to work at Lockheed a Missile Plant in Sunnyvale, California, Holding different positions in the company.
