In loving memory of Darren J Williams
DJ, Dirtdog
A compassionate quick whitted man known for his Integrity, generosity, positiveity and adventurous spirit passed away December 6th 2023 at the age of 59, in his home he shared with the love of his life Kimberly Lee Williams, (his honey girl). Darren was Born October 1st 1964 in Las Vegas Nevada to Miss Nancy who lovingly blessed the lives of Sharlene & Dalvin Williams allowing them to adopt DJ.
Darren will forever be remembered as a beacon of light, whose vibrant spirit and love of Christ touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He filled each day of his life with joy, laughter, and a zest that made people gravitate to him. He had a goal to make him self laugh at least one time a day. He possessed the unique ability to make everyone feel included and valued, sending thoughtful texts to friends and family every morning and a new word of the day. A love for food, for cooking, recipes (his Teriyaki sauce or his beans) cooking shows and for feeding people . The neighborhood kids in the summer knew where to go for good food and a turkey was always donated anonymously for Thanksgiving.
Many will always remember the adventurous side he had, like cruising his motorcycle through the halls of his high school or riding his 10 speed up Provo canyon to bridal veil falls almost daily (you should have seen his calves). You could always find Darren outdoors, sharing his love for fishing, campings, hunting and playing in the mud. The scouts were even blessed to have him for a scout master for a few years.
Being a mechanic by hobby led to building blazers. 7 to be exact all named different names ( 72' was his favorite year). The last blue one he built made it into a magazine. He was so proud. Welder fabricator by trade with such an artistic talent and pride in hard work that it drew attention of bigger companies in fields he was honored to pursue. He was a true self-made man and conquered challenges with determination and grace.
His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, transforming him into a gentle teddy bear whenever they were near. He will forever be cherished by his wife, Kimberly, his children and step-children: Brittany Marie (Keith) Hartley and their son Alva; Shawn Waters and his children Madeline and Axl; Brittney (Tristan) Abbott and their children Kaylin, Wyatt, Tylar, Marley, and Jameson; and Victoria (Terry) Pulham and their children Merik (Brianne), Jayden (Mikelle), Kiana, Lindsey, and Alexis. He is also survived by his sisters Christine Petroise and Tiffany Olson, his brothers Gregory W. Olson, Troy D. Olson, and Sean Wiliams, Dennis (Karen) Adams and their son Derek and John Adams. He will be missed by his dear friends Gary Herbert, Alan Goode, Brook Haws, Russell Ford, Darrin Mason, Todd Watts and Scott Larsen who guided him through life's challenges and shared in his adventures.
Darren now joins his late parents, Dalvin and Sharlene, his stepfather Wayne Adams, and stepmother Marilyn K. Williams in eternal peace.
Darren's celebration of life will take place on Wednesday December 13th, 2pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork Ut. Lunch to follow.
In Darren's memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to Toys for Tots, as he always had a heart for helping others in need.
He leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, laughter, and the pursuit of adventure will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those he cherished. Darren, may you rest in eternal peace. You will be missed, but your spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
As he would say ”Be Brave. Always Be Brave”.
