Darrel Gibbs Hansen, age 94, passed away July 13, 2014 in American Fork, Utah. Born October 15, 1919 in American Fork to Leo Thornton and Neva Gibbs Hansen. He married Josephine Russon on October 15, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Josephine passed away April 3, 2006.
Dad was a builder by trade and by heart. He put his soul into all he constructed never walking away until he felt it was perfect. He enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, hunting and fishing. He was the perfect example of service, always willing to go the extra mile. He has a great love for his family and a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by 3 sons and a daughter: J.R. (MaraDee), Karl G (Shirley), D. Kim (Liz), Treena Hansen, a daughter-in-law, Diane Roundy Hansen, 15 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, a brother, Roland Hansen, a sister, Ruth Hansen Jones. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Leo and a grandson, Anthony.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the American Fork 12th Ward, 673 East 300 North. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and Wednesday from 8:45-9:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial in American Fork Cemetery.
