Dale Preston Nash, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away June 21, 2016, at his home in Scenic, Arizona. He was born March 26, 1929 to James Preston and Madolyn Jensen Nash. He grew up in American Fork where he met and married his sweetheart Phyllis Lavon Cleghorn on November 10, 1949. Dale served his country during the Korean War, with the 223rd infantry regiment, 40th infantry division of the United States Army.
Dale was an outdoor man-he loved to fish, hunt, and boat. He worked at Dugway Proving Grounds, Geneva Steel, and then started Nash Construction with his father, Preston. He loved working with his hands and was always in the middle of a project.
Everywhere Dale went, he touched people's hearts and influenced their lives for the better. He was a loving and gentle person, and his most important work was his family. He made everybody feel like they were his favorite (and they all were). He is survived by his children: Richard (Sandra) Nash; Miriam (Richard) Tomlinson; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his sister Mazie Nielsen. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of sixty years, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m., prior to the services. Internment will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
