Dale Miller

Dale Brady Miller passed away after pneumonia complications on March 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born December 13, 1933 in Delta, Utah. His parents were William Christian & Eva Brady Miller. He had five brothers and one sister. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Orem, Utah. He attended BYU and was a part of Delta Phi, men's choir. Dale served an LDS Mission to the Denver Central States Mission, Colorado. Within five days of returning from Colorado he was drafted into the US Army to serve in Korea for three years.
When his military tour of duty ended, he returned to Utah to his childhood home on Carterville Road, Orem. He met and married Maxine Duke of Orem, Utah on December 2, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. He supported his wife and ten children as a stonemason. As a craftsman stonemason he spent six years building the Manti Temple Visitor Center and restoring old stone work previously done on the Manti Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His business eventually gained his own namesake, Miller Stone, and became well known for his unique, artistic, and premium stone work.
Much of his stonework artistry is still enjoyed on countless business buildings and enjoyed in private homes leaving a legacy of his talent, craftsmanship, and dedication. When he retired from Miller Stone, he worked for Express Shuttle. He had a gift of loving others and embracing them into his own as family. He was a spiritual giant for his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Duke Miller and his nine children Stephen, Paul, Brent, Karen, Connie, Judy, Aaron, Julie, Nathan and their families. His siblings: Russell Miller, Roger Miller, Margaret Atkinson, and Scott Miller. He is preceded in death by his son Andrew Wells Miller, his parents and his brothers, Ted and Johnny Miller.
In life, he prepared himself to be a master craftsman with stone. Now he continues to build a celestial mansion for his thirty-seven grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday March 17, 2017 at the 11:00 a.m. in the Bowery LDS Church Building 700 North 350 West, American Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 am at the church prior to the services. He will be buried in the Orem Cemetery with full military honors.
