Dale Burt Lindsay, a devoted husband and loving father, peacefully returned to his heavenly home on September 24, 2023, at the age of 88. Dale was born on August 16, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, to James Burt Lindsay Sr. and Mary Schirmeister Lindsay.
Dale's early years were spent in Burbank, California, where he attended and graduated from John Burroughs High School. Following his graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the Army, where he dedicated three years of his life, including a notable assignment at the underground Pentagon.
After his military service, Dale embarked on a new journey as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Montevideo, Uruguay. His dedication to his faith shone brightly as he held the position of an assistant to the president and cherished memories of serving as a Branch President.
Education was a priority for Dale, and he completed a four-year business administration degree in just two years at Woodbury College. He then ventured into the business world, eventually establishing his own successful car business. Throughout his life, Dale remained committed to a career in sales.
Dale's love story began at the North Hollywood Stake, where he enjoyed many dances and met the love of his life, Barbara Jean Carson. On March 28, 1964, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. Their union was blessed with 59 years of love and partnership, resulting in a beautiful family of four children: three daughters and one son. Their family extended further with the addition of two brothers-in-law, a daughter-in-law, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Dale was a devoted BYU fan and an avid basketball player. He was an active and respected member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various leadership roles during his lifetime. His remarkable management skills and dependability were admired by all who knew him. Dale's gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to his family were the hallmarks of his character, and he held the moments shared with his beloved wife and children close to his heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his devoted caregiver, Barbara Jean Lindsay, for her tender care during his battle with Alzheimer's.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jean Lindsay; children Connie Jean (Kenneth) Watts, Cindy Kay Lindsay, Cheri Ann (Steve) Heller, and David Burt (Jody) Lindsay; 13 cherished grandchildren and 5 adored great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Kay (Dawn) Lindsay. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
Funeral services in celebration of Dale's life will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the 26th ward building located at 2790 North Center, Lehi, UT. A viewing will take place at the church from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm before the services. Dale will be laid to rest at the Payson City Cemetery.
Dale Burt Lindsay's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
