Connie Kinney

April 29, 1940 — December 6, 2018

Connie Vereen Miles Kinney, 78, passed away on December 6, 2018 in Lehi, Utah. She was born on April 29, 1940 to Ernest Harvey Miles and Florine Stewart in Atlanta, Georgia. She loved to crochet and make costumes. She was also known for having a green thumb. She was considered by many to be a healer and loved to help others especially those who were sick.
Connie married James Franklin Berry Sr. on June 18, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia.  They had a son James Franklin Berry Jr.. Her husband would later die in the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Air Force.  Connie worked as an executive secretary for American Airlines in the Washington D.C. area, traveling the world and raising her son.  She then married Charles Henry Kinney on February 6, 1971 in Farifax, Virginia and later divorced after three additional children, Kim, Shaun, and Micah.   Connie traveled to multiple countries and touched the lives of many working to share her desire to help those in need.
Survivors include her children: James Franklin Kinney (Chris Veldkamp), Kimberly (Kevin) Fuquay-Black, Shaun Kinney, and Micah (Melissa) Kinney.  Grandchildren: Bryan Fuquay, Blake Fuquay, Max Kinney, Brooks Kinney, Lucy Kinney, Tucker Kinney, and her sister Juanita Jiles. She is preceded in death by her husband James Berry Sr., her parents, and her brother Ronald Miles.
A service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Traverse Mountain 13 th Ward located at 1530 West Pheasant Pointe Dr., Lehi, 84043. Please share a memory at andersonmortuary.com.
