Colleen Mae McKee Carter, 78 passed away May 20, 2016 in Provo, Utah. She was born July 10, 1037 in Payson, Utah to Bert Thomas McKee and Vera DeGraw McKee. She married Douglas Brent Carter September 24, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Brent passed away October 25, 2015.
Colleen and Brent owned and operated Alpine Upholstery in American Fork for over 26 years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many church callings including Relief Society President and serving as a temple worker in the Vernal Utah Temple. She loved handiwork and crafts. Colleen loved bowling and all outdoor sports. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
She is survived by her children: Carolyn (Dan) Adams, Doug (Nita) Carter, Larena Carter, Bert (Suzi) Carter, Del (Susan) Carter, 13 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and a beloved sister, Janice Earl. She was preceded in death by her husband Brent, parents Bert and Vera, and Sister Lois Kaba.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 at Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial in Fruitland Cemetery.
