Colleen Anderson

A bright light arrived on earth January 15, 1927. Colleen Curran Anderson, mother of 4 children, grandmother to 12 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 7, and great-great-grandmother to 2 granddaughters began her mortal mission. She lived a vibrant life.

In July 1942 she decided to follow our Savior Jesus Christ and be baptized and began a legacy of faith for her posterity. August of 1957 she was sealed to her sweetheart, Wilford W Anderson in the Los Angeles temple. She served in all auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a stellar example of loving and serving all of God’s children. She found treasured friends everywhere she lived.

Colleen fully embraced her ability to travel and see the world. Because her sweetheart Wil was a school teacher and had summers free from work she was able to treat her children to long, hot summer vacations. They explored the states, including to her birthplace in Fargo, North Dakota, Minnesota, all the way to the shores of Ensenada, Mexico, in a station wagon that pulled a trailer!. Later in life she and her sweetheart were campground hosts throughout the country and used their BMW motorcycle as their source of transportation at times. She would even pack up her grandchildren a few at a time and taught them to love to travel as Will drove their 1977 Toyota truck, with a small camper on board.

She selflessly served two full-time LDS missions with her sweetheart. The first was an unexpected call to serve with the Cambodian people who lived in Oakland, CA, just a 30-minute drive from Fremont, CA where she raised their family. She loved it and loved the people. In 1990, to her elation, she and her sweetheart were called to serve in Galway, Ireland, the birthplace of her progenitors and relatives. She had no qualms nor inhibitions about going up to a distant cousin’s home, knocking on the door and introducing herself as a relative. She had a family history fire in her heart and loved to hit the road to explore birthplaces to enjoy real-life visuals where her forefathers spent their lives.

She treasured the blessing of being an at-home-mom and was a great home-maker. Colleen had an appreciation for business and worked professionally as a secretary for California State Compensatory Education (CASE) Foundation and loved it! She was also able to work full-time in administration for Fremont Unified School District in all capacities and organized two junior high school libraries. Then at age 92 she had a “bucket list item” and decided to organize a 2,000-book library at her residency at The Seville in Orem, UT. Colleen is one determined soul! Her free spirit loved to dance and after her sweetheart retired from full-time teaching in 1983 he obliged to learn how to square dance with her. In 1996 they relocated from CA to UT. She enjoyed 7-Peaks water park and headed to the top of the highest waterslide and jumped right on! She was 69-years-old.

Her greatest accomplishment in life streamed from the blessing she had to be an at-home mom. Her posterity today love and miss her as she completed her mortal journey February 24, 2021. Her family is deeply grateful for her influence in their lives. They are thrilled to know that she is finally reunited with her eternal sweetheart.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Wilford W Anderson, grandson Andrew Anderson and son-in-law Thomas Bosko. She is survived by her children Michael Anderson (Diane), Penny Bosko, Carl Anderson, Wendy Cluff (Conrad), her grandchildren Angie Birmingham (Jeff), Becky Baker Foulk, Brian Baker, Mark Baker (Brook), Peter Bosko, Suzie Bosko, Bryan Martens-Anderson, Erick Martens-Anderson, Hannah Sezer (Jacob), Rebekah Peterson (Logan), Connor Cluff (Desyre), Liam Cluff, great-grandchildren Carter Anderson (Elena), Kaili Foulk, William Elijah Foulk, Caitlin Baker, Breanne Baker, Annabelle Baker, Fallon Cluff, and great-great granddaughters Zoe Anderson and Emily Anderson.

There will be an memorial for friends & family to celebrate her life in July of 2021. (Details to follow)
