Clyne Anderson Curtis, age 80, passed away on July 28, 2015 at his home in Lehi, Utah. Clyne was born October 28, 1934 in Logan, Utah as the oldest child of Seymour Clyne and Johanna Marie Anderson Curtis.
Clyne graduated from Cokeville High School and then later served an LDS mission to Sweden. While there he met his lifelong companion, Martha Cecilia Stromberg. After serving an honorable mission he returned home to America and Martha soon followed. They were sealed for time and all eternity on November 7th, 1958 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Clyne was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt, camp, fish, backpack, snowmobile and motorcycle ride. He took great pleasure in involving his children whenever possible. Family vacations when they were growing up always involved camping or backpacking and visiting national parks. As a result, they all have a deep love for nature and the outdoors which is a legacy from their father.
Clyne was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. He served as the Gospel Doctrine teacher for many years and was Sunday school president, Elders quorum president and a Stake missionary together with his wife. He had a good knowledge of the scriptures and the doctrines of the gospel. He and his wife also served a second mission in his later years in the Stockholm Temple. It was a joy for him to return again to the people of Sweden, whom he loved, and see young people who had now grown up and were holding positions in Stakes and Wards where before there had been only branches. It was the choice experience of his life. Clyne loved to attend the Temple and he and Martha would go often.
Clyne is survived by his wife, Martha, children, Clyne (Colleen) Curtis, Anna-Lisa (Tod) Murray, Wayne (Kristen) Curtis, Linnea (Ben) Baggett, Alison Ainge, Michael (Melanie) Curtis, 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and his siblings Kathy Smith (Burke) and Ron Curtis (LaRue). He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ann Reynolds.
