Clinton Davis Baty, age 82, passed away peacefully February 20, 2017, in American Fork, Utah.
Clint was born April 27, 1934, in Moab, Utah, to Henry and Muriel Fiefield Baty. He grew up in Moab, Utah, then joined the Navy at 17, and was sent to Europe during the Korean War. He returned to Moab, married Constance Smith, later divorced. In 1961, Clint and Connie moved to Sandy, Utah. Clint worked as a draftsman for Hercules, then found his calling in life sailing on the Great Salt Lake. Clint was the Harbor Master for the Great Salt Lake for 27 years, retiring in 1998. Clint also enjoyed golfing all of his adult life. Clint married Jane Barratt and spent the last 23 years of his life with her.
Clint is survived by seven children, Teri, Clinda (Robert), Carol (Ben), Steve (Tracy), Bob, Julie, Clint, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, half-sister Margaret, and half-brothers George, Walt, and Joe. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Muriel, his brother Henry, his sister Marie, and half-brothers Jeff and Floyd.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bel Aire Senior Living and Encompass Home Health & Hospice for their wonderful care of our father the last six weeks of his life.
A graveside service will be held at the Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Cemetery on March 31, 2017.
