Carma Lee Roberts Cornell, 71, passed away March 29, 2017 in Provo, Utah after a short battle with cancer. Born September 15, 1945 to John C. and Elizabeth Keith Roberts. She married Douglas Leroy Cornell July 2, 1964 in American Fork, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple July 2, 1985.
Carma was a long-time community volunteer at the American Fork Hospital Pink Shop and Senior Citizens Center. She also served on the American Fork Cemetery committee. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, most recently as Relief Society President. She loved serving a mission in Poland with her husband. Her family was her life, especially her children and grandchildren, and she was the sunshine in their lives. Carma loved her book clubs, local theater, and life in general. As Carma always said, "there's no place like home."
Carma is survived by her husband, Doug and children: Bret (Samantha) Cornell, Shari (Josh) Parkin, Robyn Cornell, 7 grandchildren, siblings Craig (Jill) Roberts, Dale (Becci) Roberts, and Carrie (Chad) Smith. She is preceded in death by her son Kent, her parents and sister Carol.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:00 am in the American Fork 26th Ward, 970 North 60 East. A viewing will be held Sunday April 2, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork and at the church on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services.
