Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Carie Jean Perrenoud Johnson, was called home to her Heavenly Father on February 14, 2025.
Born on November 1, 1947, in Rexburg, Idaho, Carie Jean was the oldest daughter of Zella Maxine Briggs and Keith H. Perrenoud. She grew up in Rexburg until the age of 12, when her family moved to Price, Utah. It was there she attended junior high school and discovered her passion for Baton twirling. The family later moved to American Fork in 1962, where Carie Jean continued Baton twirling and was an active member of the marching band throughout high school. She graduated from American Fork High School in May 1966.
During high school, Carie Jean met the love of her life, LeRoy A. Johnson. The two dated throughout high school and college, and were married on May 13, 1968. Together, they moved to Provo to continue their education at BYU, before settling back in American Fork in 1970 to raise their family.
Carie Jean began her career at Utah Power & Light in 1970, starting as a collections agent. She went on to work in the Orem warehouse and later worked as the American Fork warehouse manager and ending her 35 year career as an Operation manager. She earned many recognitions and awards for a women working in the work force during her time with the company. She retired in 2006 after a fulfilling and rewarding career.
Carie Jean was a devoted mother to two children, Jerilyn (Scott) Jones and Ryan (Christy) Johnson, and a loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Tamra K. Sorensen. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy A. Johnson, and both of her parents.
Funeral services for Carie Jean will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the American Fork City Cemetery.
