Brynne DaNae Bohn, our sweet and sassy “baby girl” returned to her heavenly home on February 6, 2024. We were blessed with her loving and mischievous spirit for 18 years. She was born on April 26, 2005, in Fresno, CA, and resided in Alpine, UT, for the last 8 years.
Brynne was born with Kearns-Sayre Syndrome and was diagnosed when she was 5 years old. When she was younger, with big brown eyes and chubby cheeks, she played soccer, danced in recitals, cheered at football games, climbed the monkey bars, had besties and sleepovers, and could sing every word of the latest Taylor Swift song.
Brynne loved playing tricks on her family and was always trying to recruit someone to help her with one of her devious plans. She delighted in giving the most thoughtful gifts. It was an amazing talent of hers but they were almost always impossible to open: triple-wrapped, duct taped, or 7 boxes deep. She would laugh and laugh and ask whoever was nearby to describe the play-by-play of the opening.
When her body was no longer strong enough to take more than a few steps on her own, she still tried. When her vision was mostly gone and she often had a new bruise from a table or wall she didn’t see, she still tried to be independent and didn’t let anything stop her. Brynne was pure grit, never once complaining about her limitations.
Brynne loved her holidays celebrating each one to the fullest. Her nails, scented candles, screensavers, and phone cases changed with each one. She was a party planner extraordinaire and each holiday was a new event. The games, decorations, prizes, menu, and playlist were meticulously directed at her behest.
Brynne delighted in bringing laughter and amusement to everyone around her. Never a day passed without Brynne proclaiming “I love you so much!” to those close to her.
Brynne is survived by her devoted parents, Jeff and Jen Bohn; her siblings, Carter Allen, Wesley (Cidnee) Bohn, Garrett Bohn, Drew Bohn; her grandparents, Bill and DaNae Hurd and Sherry Bohn; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Theodore Bohn, and her great-grandmother, Beverly Huntington.
Her impact was deeply felt and far-reaching by all who had the good fortune to know her. She touched the lives of all those she encountered, leaving lasting impressions of her love and kindness.
To celebrate Brynne's remarkable life, a Funeral Service will be held on February 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Deerfield Ward Chapel, 676 North Eagle View Drive, Alpine, Utah. Following the service, Brynne will be laid to rest in the Alpine Cemetery at 300 North Grove Drive, Alpine, Utah.
