Britt Kelly Benson passed away unexpectedly at his home in American Fork on April 8th, 2025; at the age of 64. Britt was born to Chirs Benson & Evelyn Longenette in Salina, Kansas on August 16, 1960. Britt is the oldest of 4, he has a twin sister Bambi, another sister Fawn, then a little brother who passed away at a young age. He was raised in Texas, then headed off to travel. He lived in Jackson Hole for a while before settling into Utah where he found the love of his life Suzann, who had 3 kids whom he took as his own. Britt loved his family more than anything in this world, next to fishing of course. He did everything he could to provide a wonderful life for them. He taught them to fish for catfish at AF boat harbor, took them camping, had many bbq's, took them to Lagoon amusement park, and just being outdoors with them.
Britt was a heavy equipment operator for his whole life and worked for many wonderful companies including Mitchell X, Grade Solutions and most currently at Hadco in Lehi. He loved being out in the field running his equipment, installing pipe, and watching his hard work come to life as subdivisions, commercial buildings, and hospitals. He took great pride in his work and love teaching those around him about it.
Britt is preceded in death by his mom Evelyn Longenette, his step dad Shad Longenette, and his brother Dennis Benson. He is survived by his soul mate Suzann of 33 years, and his children Nichole Cook, Stacey (James) Owen, Brayden (Casey) Cook, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Britt's jokes, his teasings, his laugh, his love for his family, his love for music and his singing will be missed by many. We love and miss him so much and we are so sad of his passing but he isn't gone forever, he's "Just gone fish'n"
