It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brent James Holley, 44, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend. Brent peacefully passed away on May 17, 2024, in Provo, UT, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in American Fork, UT, Brent was the cherished son of Dennis and Kristine Holley, and a dedicated father to Mack, Bowen, and Hazel. Brent died from a severe case of pneumonia. He had been very ill for the past four months with severe pancreatitis and other related illnesses. He fought hard and seemed to get well more than once, but he never recovered completely. His body was not strong enough to fight off the pneumonia, after all he had been through. He was our Warrior. His passing has left his family very sad, but grateful that he is now free from the illnesses he has experienced in life. We, as his family, are so grateful for the bonus last four months we've shared with him.
Brent was born on April 4, 1980, in the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. His parents, Dennis and Kristine Holley, were thrilled when he was born. He was a darling little baby. It seemed like he was a smiling, happy baby from the time he was born. When he was old enough to walk, he would often find other young children at church, put his arms around them, and kiss them! His love, care, and kindness to all people never changed throughout his life.
Brent attended school in American Fork, and he enjoyed his years of schooling at Forbes Elementary School, American Fork Junior High, and American Fork High School. He attended Lone Peak as a senior, and his high school graduation was from Lone Peak High School. He was an excellent student. He also attended BYU and Utah Valley University.
Brent found his calling in the sales industry within travel and leisure, where he dedicated his talents and energy. His work allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life. Despite his professional success, Brent's true happiness came from being with his children and attending their various activities, supporting and encouraging them every step of the way.
As a sports enthusiast, Brent had a special passion for watching BYU and the Utah Jazz. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or playing a friendly game himself, sports always held a special place in his heart. Brent was an avid BYU sports fan. Like his Dad, he was true blue and they loved nothing more than discussing and watching the games together!
His dedication to his faith led him to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Rome, Italy mission, where he found profound meaning and purpose in helping others. He loved his mission, and he loved the Italian people. He made many life-long friends there, as well as among his missionary companions.
Brent is survived by his children, Mack Robert, Bowen James, and Hazel Jane (Jane Jane) Holley as well as their Mother, Kellie Bowen Holley. His parents Dennis and Kristine Holley, sister, Michelle (Martin) Webb, brother, Jeff (Alesha) Holley, brother, Mark (Jessica) Holley, brother, Craig (Toshya) Holley, sister, Amber (Trent) Cracraft as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
As we honor Brent's life and legacy, we invite family and friends to join us in celebrating his memory. A viewing will take place on May 21, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Anderson and Sons Funeral Home in American Fork, UT. His Funeral Service will be held, on May 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at the American Fork Chapel at 455 E. 300 N. American Fork. A Public Viewing will be held prior at 9:45 am, also at the same location.
Brent will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his memory, let us cherish the moments shared and the love given, as we honor a life well-lived and a soul deeply cherished. May his spirit be a guiding light for all who carry his memory in their hearts. As Brent would say, "Let's just all be Kind".
