Boyd Wilkinson

September 3, 1960 — December 5, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Boyd Jack Wilkinson, who left us on December 5, 2024 at age 64. Boyd spent his life as a beloved son, devoted husband, cherished father, an adored grandfather known affectionately as "Papa B", and a treasured friend to many.

Born September 3, 1960 in American Fork, Utah to Herbert Jack Wilkinson and Neola Myrick, Boyd was the oldest of four siblings; Velina Astill, Wayne Wilkinson and Ben Wilkinson. He graduated from American Fork High School before serving a mission in San Antonio, Texas.

Boyd cherished spending time with his family and creating memories with his wife, Julie, and their children, Amanda and Casey. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather, relishing moments spent with his grandchildren. He loved supporting his kids and grandkids, and attended every game, dance performance, and birthday. Not to mention, Boyd had a number of lifelong friendships that were of great importance to him. He had an uncanny ability to recognize anyone he once knew and always stopped to wish them well. Whether cheering for the Yankees or sharing laughter during family gatherings, Boyd's spirit and warmth filled the hearts of those around him.

Service to others was a common theme throughout Boyd's life. As an eagle scout himself, he helped young men through the scouting program and served many callings for his church. He was heavily involved with the youth baseball program in American Fork. Boyd coached many teams over the years and was always a positive influence on his players, with his number one rule being "have fun!".

Boyd's strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in his personal and professional life. He enjoyed working in the yard, and obsessed over mowing straight lines to achieve a perfectly manicured lawn. He also had a passion for vehicles, owning and restoring a number of trucks and cars, including his famed black Ford. He loved to tell stories about hiking, hunting, and off-roading around Mount Timpanogos.

Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Julie Wilkinson, their children, Amanda (Adam) Cook and Casey (Lexy) Wilkinson, and five grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
