Beverly Marie Lewis Williams

1925-2019

Beverly Marie Lewis Williams, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, from complications of a stroke. She lived an amazing life and was 94 years old. Beverly was born February 8, 1925, in Provo, Utah, to Claude and Margaret Lewis. She had one sister, Claudia, and two brothers, Gary and Tom.

Beverly was the kind of person who, if you were lucky enough to know her, you wanted to be like her. She was genuinely kind, never complained or passed judgment, and was quick to find the good in all people and most situations. She valued good old-fashioned hard work, was patient and forgiving, and loved without conditions. Beverly took everything in stride and appreciated the simple things in life.

Beverly loved the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held multiple callings including Relief Society President and Compassionate Service Leader. She lived her life so there was no question where she stood and what she believed in. Regardless of circumstances in her life, she remained true to her faith and was a shining reminder of everything good in the world.

Beverly was easy-going, quietly funny, and liked a good joke. When she laughed hard, her eyes would close completely and her small shoulders would shake. She was classy yet full of spunk and a hoot to be around. She loved to go fishing in Vernal, made a mean potato salad, and could embroider beautifully.

Beverly was a full-time homemaker by choice and she loved being a mother and adored her three girls, Michelle, ReNee, and Kathryn. She was proud of each of them and enjoyed watching them grow up and raise families of their own. Because of them, Beverly also got three son-in-laws whom she appreciated and loved so much.“Nana”, as she was known to most of the family, loved traditions and especially getting together with everyone on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

But above all else, nothing made Beverly happier than the time she spent with her sweetheart, Wayne. They were married on March 10, 1945, and she was an unwavering support while he served our country in the Army/Air Force. They were best friends and fishing partners and spent countless hours fishing side by side. He thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world and he didn’t hesitate to say it. They sat close to each other, hung on during the hard times, and could always be found holding hands. Beverly and Wayne were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and were married for 69 years. There’s no doubt he’s been waiting impatiently to hold her hand again.

Beverly is survived by her three daughters: Michelle (Mac) McKell, American Fork, UT; ReNee (John) Clark, Torrey, UT; Kathryn (Jorma) Kirsi, American Fork, UT. and 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her brother and sister: Gary (Bonnie) Lewis, Providence, UT; Claudia (Mike) Burrows, Kaysville, UT. There was a twenty year age difference between Beverly and Claudia and Beverly was like a mother figure to her. Claudia visited every other Monday and they cherished their time together. She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Tom, and her husband Wayne.

Beverly was the matriarch of a family who loved her dearly and respected her wisdom and advice. She led by example and with grace, humor, and unconditional love. Fish on, you two ❤️
