Beverly Jean Graff Brooks
January 31, 1928 - June 12, 2014 Passed away peacefully at her home. Married Charles R (Bob) Brooks on February 27, 1946 And later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 17, 1956. She is survived by her five children LaMar (Sally) Brooks of Filer, Idaho, Randy (Coni) Brooks of Mona, Utah, Ginger (David) Pickering of Arlington, Texas, Bobbie Brooks of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Les Brooks of Alpine, Utah, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In May of 1968, at the age of 40, she graduated cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi.
Beverly's life was exemplified as a school teacher. She taught with desire and love. She established her rule that no child was left behind. Her creative insight for teaching not only brought awareness to her colleagues but parents as well. Parents requested their children to be in her class which resulted in filled and an overflowing classroom. She had clout and the ability to get what she needed for her students in order to teach them properly. She taught with creative insight, fun and rules and love. Her students embarked on lessons in mask making, stained glass, puppets, ornaments and many other projects, never to be duplicated by her next class.
After teaching her youngest son, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends children, she hung up her degree, 33 years of pure enjoyment and laughs. She travelled with her husband, children and friends. She baked fabulous cookies, cakes, pies and made candies, which she joyously shared with her family, friends, neighbors and anyone who stopped at her door.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi North Stake 30th Ward, 3180 North 300 West. There will be a viewing Friday, June 20th from 6-8 at Anderson's Mortuary,49 East 100 North, American Fork, and at the church on June 21st from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
