Arthur James Estes, 87, of American Fork, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family June 25, 2020. Born December 16, 1932 in Pocatello, Idaho the son of James Adam Homer Estes and Wanda Viola Bennett. He married Francis Hadley and they later divorced. He later married Ann Weddle they too later divorced. Arthur married Carolyn Kaye Morton, April 5, 1972 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Arthur is remembered as Sensei for his Judo students, as the water master for American Fork City, Pleasant Grove City, and the Murdock Canal Project. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings and leadership positions.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, children: Dennis Estes, Artis (Cloyd) Allgier, Monte (Cindy) Estes, Alice (Dennis) Murphy, David Britton, Roy (Satana) Estes, Vonda (Gary) Longmire, Chris (Leah) Estes, Jared Estes, 38 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and his siblings, Robert Estes, Anita Rotondo, Donna Zitzelberger, Ron Estes, Fae Mills, and a special caregiver, Choy Estes. He is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Careen Hardman and Melanie Fuller and his son Marvin Britton.
Due to COVID-19 funeral services will be held by invitation at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Thursday July 2, 2020 at 11:00am. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services by appointment. Please use the SignUp Genius at the bottom of the obituary to schedule a time to attend the viewing. Burial in the American Fork Cemetery.
