Anna Mae Mitchell Miller Prestwich, 91, of American Fork passed away January 7, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 1, 1931 in American Fork, Utah the daughter of Leland Richard Mitchell and Oma Elvira Hansen. In 1947, she was queen of American Fork Steel Days. She married the love of her life John Dale Miller May 11, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple; he preceded her in death October 30, 1981. She later married Max Kay Prestwich, October 3, 1987 in the Provo Temple.
Anna’s greatest love in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Having her family live close by was one of her greatest blessings. She will be remembered for hosting the funnest family get togethers and holiday celebrations. Flower arranging and sitting on her deck were some of her great pleasures. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings.
She is survived by her children Kristine Rhodes, Maury (Gisele) Miller, Vicki (David) Dorton, Tony (Susie) Miller, Jason (Lisa) Miller. She was lovingly known as “Gommie” to her 18 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Dale and Max, her parents, and five siblings, Leland “June”, Marriner, Dott, Theresa, and Pauline.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 am in the American Fork 29th Ward, 455 East 300 North. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Burial will be held at the American Fork Cemetery.
