Alla Mamontova Kurinskaja, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on February 10, 2024. Born November 21, 1940, the daughter of Aleksey Mamontov and Maria Kotova Mamontova. She married Vadim Kurinsky June 22, 1974, in Maikop, Russia.
Soon after, they welcomed their only daughter, Irina, into their lives with open arms and grateful hearts. They lived in Klaipeda, Lithuania, on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Vadim traveled the world as a fisherman on commercial boats. Alla worked as a telephone operator and was dedicated to her profession. Many would turn to Alla for help when problems arose.
Alla loved all things nature. She had a special gift for caring for animals and birds. Irina has fond memories of going to the beach with her mother. They had many deep discussions there overlooking the expansive waters. They also enjoyed taking walks together through the nearby forests. Alla's calm quiet spirit was at peace there.
In 2005 her beloved Vadim passed away. A few years later she moved to the United States to live with Irina and her grandchildren, Belka, Darius and Kiki. Although they spoke different languages, Alla loved her grandchildren fiercely. Even when her health deteriorated she found ways to serve them. Each of the grandkids is deeply connected to her and love her with all their hearts.
Alla is a kind and devoted friend. She is gentle and never complained. Her goodness was felt by everyone blessed to know her. She is one of the great ones and now is free from all pain and suffering. She is embraced by all who love her on the other side of the veil. But for those of us who remain here, we will remember her pure, sweet, gentle spirit that will continue to live through her daughter and grandkids. Until we meet again...we love you, Alla.
Survivors include her daughter, Irina Cline and grandchildren, Darius, Isabella, and Kirill. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vadim, her parents, and a sister, Svetlana Shirobokova.
