Alice Santos Noah, 84, passed away May 3, 2024, after a short illness in Lehi, Utah. Alice was born January 11th, 1940, to Lonnie B. Noah and Juanita Rincon in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Alice grew up the oldest of 8 siblings on a small family ranch in Maricopa County, where she learned the value of hard work that served her throughout her life. Alice attended Agua Fria High School in Avondale, Arizona, where she was a friend to all and an outstanding athlete; excelling in volleyball, basketball, softball. She graduated in 1958.
Alice was always a hard worker and up for new challenges, which led to her trying different occupations to contribute to the family income. In 1981, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream to become a nurse and attended Utah Technical College, graduating in the spring of 1984. Alice worked as a nurse in San Francisco at the height of the AIDs epidemic. Later she moved back to Avondale and started work with the Arizona Department of Corrections at the Perryville Complex in Goodyear, where she worked until she retired in 2010. After retirement Alice enjoyed traveling to visit with her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to her annual sibling reunion, as family was very important to her. The Genealogy bug hit Alice and became close to an obsession. She loved the challenge and was always excited when a new discovery was made. Alice also enjoyed doing indexing for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Alice married Irwin L Peters Jr. on April 15, 1961, a union that produced 6 children. They were later divorced.
Alice is survived by her children, Lisa (Terry) Kerby, Pete (Shannon) Peters, Darren Peters, Todd Peters, and Tiffani Peters; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her brother, David (Kathleen) Noah; and her sister, Juanita (Fred) Benbow. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Juanita; and siblings, Margaret Noah, Mattie Noah, Lonnie Bertram Noah, Joseph Noah, and George Noah.
