Alice Wentworth Guest (nee Alice Kay Wentworth) died on January 4, 2021 in American Fork, UT. She was born on April 10, 1951 to Lyle Edward Wentworth and Kathleen Ann Geiter in Edgerton, WI. She loved living and working on the farm, but not so much in the tobacco patch. The family had to move off the farm when her Dad died (she was eleven years old).
She met her future husband Randall Vaughn Guest while she was living in Endeavor, WI. They met at a single adult activity in Madison, WI. She taught Randy the Wisconsin Woods way of hunting deer (very different than the Rocky Mountain way!). They were married on February 14, 1996 in the Chicago temple. It was so cold that February that her plants froze solid on the way from Endeavor to Albany, WI, their new home. The plant’s leaves tinkled like bells when they broke and hit the ground. They honeymooned in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, driving an un-heated VW Minbus … cold, cold ride.
She liked to tell everyone that she married into a family with 6 kids, 5 of them home and most of them teens! She loved her new children, and then her grandchildren when they arrived.
She followed her husband to work assignments in Lincoln, NE and then Houston, TX. They retired to American Fork, UT to be nearer her kids and grandkids… and the mountains!
Alice loved hunting, fishing, quilting, and the mountains, but most of all spending time with her kids and grandkids. She would work year round to make sure everyone would have an amazing Christmas from Grandma. She loved to throw our Christmas on New Year’s Day party every year.
She was active in her church, serving women and children in the 12th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also called to the 39th Branch of the Church as a volunteer serving patients at the American Fork Hospital. She ministered faithfully in all her callings.
Survivors include her husband; children April (Jaren) Tolman, Joy (Tom) Kent, Genevieve (Michael) Simpson, James Guest, Jason (Carol) Guest and Robert (Sarah) Guest; siblings Joan Wentworth (John Ebbott), David (Connie) Wentworth, Robert (Kris) Wentworth, Beth (Dewayne) Wood, Mary (Gary) Harris, John (Vicky) Wentworth, Mike (deceased) (Cathy) Wentworth and Jim (Josie) Wentworth; and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and grandson Caleb.
